General Summary of role: We are looking for an accomplished Business Analyst with deep expertise in the US Healthcare Insurance sector. This role focuses on aligning business objectives with innovative technology solutions, ensuring our systems are optimized, compliant, and industry-aligned. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including clients, developers, and QA teams, to capture requirements, analyse workflows, and deliver solutions that enhance our healthcare insurance services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of the needs related to healthcare insurance processes.
  • Process Analysis: Analyse current business processes related to healthcare insurance, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Solution Design: Work with technical teams to design and implement solutions that align with business goals and comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ACA).
  • Documentation: Create detailed documentation, including business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications, use cases, and process flows.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring clear communication and understanding throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to support decision-making, including the extraction and interpretation of data from healthcare systems.
  • Testing Support: Collaborate with QA teams to develop and execute test plans, ensuring that solutions meet business requirements and are free of defects.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all business processes and solutions adhere to relevant healthcare regulations and industry standards.
  • Project Management: Assist in project planning, timeline management, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Training & Support: Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they understand and can effectively use the new systems and processes.

  • In-depth knowledge of the US Healthcare Insurance industry, including key processes such as claims processing, eligibility and enrolment, premium billing, provider management, and utilization management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, ACA, and CMS guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to dissect complex healthcare insurance processes and propose effective solutions
  • Experience in analysing large datasets and drawing meaningful insights.
  • Proficient in using business analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience with healthcare insurance systems, EHR/EMR systems, and data integration (e.g., HL7, EDI transactions).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration among diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation, including BRDs, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Experience in managing or supporting healthcare insurance projects, with knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in healthcare insurance, including data privacy and security.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the US Healthcare Insurance domain.
  • Experience working with healthcare insurance providers, payers, or related technology solutions.

Good to have Skills:

  • Certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
